When a Golden Retriever and a Rhodeshian Ridgeback in neighboring houses fell in love, not even a fence could keep them apart. The two pups visited each other every day and even shared and traded toys across the division.
So after this went on for a while, their families finally decided to throw some “no fences” playdates, and their friendship is just the sweetest to watch.

How it all started
Pax’s parents began to notice a pattern. Every time they let the sweet boy out of her, she would head straight for a specific spot along the fence. That’s where she would stand so she could look longingly at her neighbor’s back door. Why? Because that’s where she would wait for the girl next door.
Even her neighbors began to notice Pax’s concern for her pup. He was often seen looking for Penny, and even sent pictures to Pax’s parents of him looking out into her garden. Fortunately for the lovesick pup, the feelings were mutual. Penny, the Ridgeback next door, also had an affinity for the magnificent Golden Retriever.

In fact, Pax is one of the only reasons Penny was willing to face her fear of snow. After the pups’ backyards were covered in a few inches of snow, Penny and Pax were apart for a whole week. She was just too scared to run out into the snow. But it wasn’t long before love overcame fear. Once she shoveled a path and saw Pax’s pretty face waiting for her, Penny was finally willing to run out into the snow to say hello to her best friend.
Soon after that, the couple returned to greeting each other every morning and sharing toys on the other side of the fence. So the next step was, naturally, to set up some “official” playdates for the pups, without a fence between them. And they did exactly as well as their parents had hoped!
“They just get along so well that we felt like we couldn’t keep them apart,” Pax’s mom said.

They got covered in kisses, they matched their style of play, and IIt was obvious that they both loved each other very much. It was a match made in puppy heaven, and it’s one of the best love stories we’ve ever seen.
