A pit bull named Daenerys had been cruelly abandoned by her original owner. She moved out of her apartment and took all of her belongings, which were more valuable to him than her own dog. Daenerys sat there, day after day, without food or water. Her body deteriorated from hunger. Every bone of hers showed through her skin.
Daenerys would have starved to death if not for a miracle. A handyman went to the apartment to change the lock for the new tenants and found Daenerys inside. She was at death’s door. She wouldn’t have made it if he hadn’t gone there that day. She immediately called her good friend Tara from her, who hurried over. The dog was conscious and she was able to sit upright, but she was unable to walk on her own. She looked like a skeleton. It was beyond heartbreaking.

Tara, who had experience raising difficult cases, took the dog home. Daenerys had a long road ahead of her. In order to recover, she would need to regain her strength. Daenerys took five days to walk. When she finally did, Tara gave her a well-deserved round of applause. Daenerys was on her way back to her health and it was truly a blessing. Tara’s love, affection and encouragement had a lot to do with the Pit Bull’s amazing progress. Daenerys, despite everything she had been through, put all her faith in Tara and the other humans she met along the way. Aren’t dogs amazing?

While still underweight, Daenerys made huge strides. She wore the cutest pajamas to keep herself warm. Then Tara discovered the sweetest thing. Daenerys LOVES stuffed toys. She couldn’t get enough of them! Tara explains, in the video, that Pittie’s collection consisted of at least 100 stuffed animals at any given time. She loved to bury her tracker in the pile of toys and choose which one suited her at that particular moment.
Daenerys became so attached to it that a stuffed animal accompanied her wherever she went. Even to eat! The story of the miracle dog just keeps getting better (and cuter)! We are so grateful for this beautiful rescue and Daenerys’ second chance at life.
